Hot Weather Painting
Hot Weather Painting Good architectural painting in tropical weather such as hot and high humidity conditions may sometimes be difficult. Steps can be taken to minimize the consequences of this sort of situations as follows.
Temperatures exceeding 32°C will cause paint to dry fast. Rapid drying of paint film may occur with these higher temperatures. Ceilings and walls can burn out the resin quickly. This effect may consume higher paint quantities on the surface and may leave track marks. A proper filler material (Lionlac or Tokyolac Fillers) beneath the topcoat will help the accurate paint film to stay on the surface firmly without causing to rapid drying out process and remaining adequate time period in wet form and more flow. This issue can be eliminated by using proper roller covers and it helps smooth film application on the surface. A rough roller cover will result a rough finish.
Interior breeze with high temperatures also can be an issue. Reducing the breeze in hallways slowdown the drying process and provide better finish on the surface.
Exterior paint application during hot weather may also require special attention to minimize the effect of high temperatures and humidity conditions. Proper fillers (Lionlac and Tokyolac Fillers) will also benefit the final paint coat, allowing less paint to be burn-out.
After the sun comes over the head, painting can take place, following the sun until sun-set. Painting in direct sunlight could be a problem if temperatures exceed 32°C. The paint can dry on the surface before its expected drying time which may result wrinkles.
Painting should finish leaving sufficient time for the coating to dry. Recommended to finishing time is approximately 2 hours before sunset. This will help eliminate dew or condensation.
